Pre-Care pmu recommendations
Before booking your Permanent Makeup appointment, there are a few considerations to take to ensure the best possible results and retention. I’ve included some useful information to help you plan when to schedule your PMU appointment, and on the day of your appointment, I will go over your post-care in-depth with you.
-
Discontinue usage of Retinols, Retin-A, Glycolic Acid, Salicylic Acid, and Lactic Acids 14 days prior to your appointment.
No chemical peels should be performed at least 2 weeks prior. It is very important to let me know if you have had a chemical peel within 3 months of your Brow appointment.
Please avoid alcohol, caffeine, and intense workouts 24 hours prior to the appointment.
BOTOX info: PMU must be done 2 weeks PRIOR to your Botox appointment OR, you must have done your last Botox treatment 30 days PRIOR to PMU
The treatment area must be clear of any rashes, pimples/breakouts, lesions, sunburns, or recent prolonged sun exposure. It is very important for the skin to be HEALTHY.
Do not wax or tweeze brow hairs before coming to your appointment. Come in with full hair growth in all its glory!
Cannot have had a vaccine within 30 days
Discontinue any medications or supplements that cause the blood to thin (unless medically necessary) Ex: Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Aleve, Motrin, Vitamin E, Ginko Biloba
I always recommend washing and drying your hair on the day of your appointment. Not a requirement by any means, but because you will be following a dry-healing process, it’s important not to get them wet. This is more of just a heads-up so that you are aware and can be prepared!
It is ok to come to your appointment with your makeup on. Sometimes, I prefer it because it allows me to see the way you are most used to seeing yourself with eyebrows.
Please Note: Make sure you clear any social plans that involve dirt and debris, getting sweaty, or water for 7-14 days. I would also plan your brow appointment 7-14 days prior to family photos, sunny vacations, or any super-important events. We want your brows fully healed and looking their best for those things!

One week prior to your lip appointment: Mix sugar and coconut oil together to create a paste. GENTLY exfoliate your lips. Apply a hydrating balm to your lips daily, leading up to your service.
It is very, very important for retention purposes that you have healthy, hydrated, uncompromised lips going into your appointment. If they are sunburned, extremely chapped, or flaky, it will interfere with your results.
If you have EVER (like, EVER EVER in the history of your entire life) had a cold sore, you will want to call your doctor for a prescription and treat it prophylactically. Even if you are not “prone” to getting them trauma to the skin can cause an outbreak. Not only is that not fun to deal with, but it will also compromise your retention and results. If you aren’t sure, you may choose to take L-lysine, which is an over-the-counter supplement that can help as well.
No “lip plumping” lip gloss 24 hours prior to appointment
Discontinue any medications or supplements that cause the blood to thin (unless medically necessary) Ex: Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Aleve, Motrin, Vitamin E, Ginko Biloba
Injectables (filler, Botox) should be performed at least 2 weeks prior to appointment, or your PMU appointment should come at least 2 weeks prior to your injectable appointment.
Please Note: swelling, tenderness, and/or bruising is possible and typically resolves within 24 hours.

Do not come to your appointment with eye makeup on. (Be completely bare… no mascara, no liner, no shadow)
If you wear contacts, please do not wear them to your appointment. Or bring your contact case and solution to take them out.
MUST, MUST be off of eyelash growth serums ( Latisse, R+F, Grandelash, etc) for a MINIMUM of 30 days.
No lash extensions. If you have them, be aware that they will likely fall out during your tattoo appointment.
If you have allergies, watery eyes, and/or are prone to swelling, it may be wise to take Benedryl at the time of your appointment. It’s not a requirement, but it is sometimes helpful.
Eyes should be healthy, no styes, irritation, etc.
Please Note: Slight swelling of the eyelids is possible the morning after the PMU procedure. This will generally resolve after a couple of hours. The healing period for eyeliner is around 5 days. During this time, you are unable to wear eye makeup, including mascara.
