I began my career as a Freelance Makeup Artist in Kansas City, making up pretty faces for weddings, professional photo shoots, and fitness competitions. The creativity of makeup has always inspired me. A few years into makeup artistry, I became interested in the skin and how it functions. It made me sad that my clients would apologize and feel embarrassed if I had to work with their breakouts, wrinkles, or bags under their eyes. It motivated me to expand my expertise in caring for skin. I wanted the knowledge to help my clients feel as beautiful without makeup on as they felt when it was fully applied.
I became a licensed Aesthetician in 2009, primarily in Dermatology and Plastic Surgery offices, specializing in medical-based skin technologies. Through my experience in the medical field of aesthetics, I was able to expertly analyze skin and help my clients achieve youthful, clear, radiant complexions through chemical peels, lasers, collagen induction therapies, and skincare regimens. My approach to skincare is creating a comprehensive plan to get you to the skin you desire, to have beautiful skin that you feel confident in, with or without makeup.
After a decade in Medical Aesthetics, I felt the urge to learn a new trade…I wanted to get back to my roots, my creative and artistic side, while still doing what I love doing with skin. I was drawn to the technique of Microblading for brows because I had always been very into brows. I remember being a young girl, using my mother’s eye shadows to fill in my very blonde brows to look like I had any, at all! I learned very quickly how your brows can completely change your look by changing the shape, color, thickness, and so on. I knew I wasn’t the only one experiencing the daily struggle of doing their brows, and I felt that this was an area that I could help others with. I became certified in Microblading in Utah, in 2018. It was something completely new to me and it opened the door to the world of Permanent Cosmetics and I immediately fell in love! From there, I went to California to become certified in the specialized “Lip Blushing” cosmetic lip tattoo technique and then later, completed an Apprenticeship Program under Tina Burch with Let’s Face It, who has been a master of the Permanent Cosmetics industry for over 20 years. Through this Apprenticeship Program, I earned my Missouri Tattoo License and the idea for Aesthet.Ink Studio was born.
I believe Skin and Permanent Cosmetics go hand in hand. I believe healthy, glowing skin is always IN and Permanent Makeup should enhance your already natural beauty. Helping you wake up every day, feeling beautiful and confident when you look in the mirror is my ultimate priority!
